United Way of West Central Minnesota’s Volunteer Center and our area schools are preparing for the Youth Days of ACTION this Friday, May 8th and Saturday, May 9th. The Youth Days of Action are planned to help engage our area’s students and families in creating a difference for those in need. This is a great opportunity for our youth to LIVE UNITED and learn about the importance of volunteering. Along with the Youth Day of Action, United Way is planning to continue the traditional Day of Action as well. The day has been moved to August in an effort to reach more businesses and to expand the volunteer day to their new territory.
This Friday and Saturday more than 800 youth from area schools and communities will be raking yards, cleaning parks, sorting donations, visiting nursing homes, washing windows, picking up trails, sweeping sidewalks and more. United Way’s Youth Day of Action is an opportunity for our community to set aside one day to make a big difference.
Thank you toL Bremer Bank, Cash Wise Foods and Hansen Advertising for sponsoring the Youth Days of Action!

Power of the Purse: GREAT SUCCESS!
Thank you to all of our members, home hosts, basket donors, purse contributors, food vendors, volunteers and bus drivers for making the 3rd Annual Power of the Purse a great success.
Because of our community's generousity, Empower raised more than $20,000 to support early learning in our community and to help them reach their goal of having 80% of our children prepared for school by 2012.
THANK YOU FOR LIVING UNITED!
